We are looking to recruit a Senior Legal Assistant with a ‘can do’ approach who will join our Adults, Education and Employment team and play a vital role in our journey. Our ideal candidate will have some experience of Employment law and a passion to learn more.
The role of the Senior Legal Assistant will assist with
- Preparing cases for court including instructing Counsel as appropriate and take responsibility for the councils advocate on matters as directed.
- Drafting documents and pleadings, taking instructions, issuing proceedings, interviewing witness in order to take statements and prepare affidavits, liaising with solicitors and the courts, and other third parties.
- Liaising and corresponding with the relevant Directorate Teams, other Officers (including Senior Officers, Directors and Members) and any other stakeholders. Dealing with highly confidential information.
- Providing advice to client officers and Chief Officers on matters related to area of work
