HR Officer
Our Human Resources & Organisational Development Division is hiring
We’re entering an exciting new chapter. Following a recent restructure, we’re focused on redefining the way we grow and thrive - together.
We are looking to recruit an HR Officer. You will have a CIPD qualification, degree or equivalent experience.
About the role
The HR Officer will act across Council Directorates supporting the HR Advisers, Senior HR Advisers, Investigations Officers and HR Managers in delivering effective, professional, and customer-focussed HR advice and interventions, in line with Royal Borough of Greenwich (RBG) requirements.
You will help support managers and staff in accessing the Council’s HR & OD services, HR policies, processes and procedures and providing advice and guidance as to the interpretation of these in the context of organisational precedent and custom and practice.
You will act as the gateway for managers/staff to access more senior HR colleagues or other services within HR & OD.
You will provide HR advice and information to council Service Areas and schools and participate in employee-focused activities and projects.
About you
You should have a good understanding of Human Resources Management and have worked in at least one area – e.g., recruitment, employee relations, HR policy, learning and organisational development or HR management information. You will also have excellent HR administration skills.
You will have the ability to manage employee relation issues and practical experience of applying confidentiality and GDPR principles in the way you work.
Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be building relationships at all levels of the organisation, ensuring that HR is seen as a trusted partner in achieving business success.
