The Public Health department is at the heart of the council’s business. It is a well-established team, with strong links across council departments, joined-up working with the NHS and excellent partnerships with the community, voluntary and faith sectors and with local residents.

We work as part of the London and the South-East London public health systems, the South East London ICS, and are actively engaged in a wide range of collaborative work across borough boundaries & London-wide.

We are seeking to appoint to our Director of Public Health role, a key statutory leadership position within our authority and the wider system. You will be an experienced senior public health professional, with a strong track record in delivering complex system change to improve health and wellbeing and to tackle the unjust inequalities in health that persist within our communities.

Candidates must be registered public health specialists on the GMC Specialist Register, the GDC Specialist List or the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR).
